How do I know what latch my lock has?
This chart will demonstrate how to determine the lock “backset”. Some locks have adjustable latches, and some are non-mortise type, meaning the latch prep does not have a 1 x 2 1/4 cut out on the door edge. This is referred to as a drive in latch.
What is the best way to clean my hardware?
Always refer to the manufacturer for cleaning instructions. Improper use of chemicals will void any finish warranty that may apply.
What is the best way to determine the finish of my hardware?
Refer to the manufacturer’s web site. They will have a finish chart. Finishes will fall in to one of the following categories.
- Brass/Bronze Finishes
- Silver Tones
- Antique/Black
